Transfer music and video from iTunes to your Nokia device


In order to view the Flash content, you need to have Macromedia Flash Player installed on your computer.

Before you begin, make sure that you selected "Enable iTunes Folder Transfer" during the Nokia Multimedia Transfer setup. If you did not, you can select it by clicking on the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in your menu bar, selecting Device settings..., and checking the box next to "Enable iTunes Folder Transfer."

  1. Connect your Nokia device to your Mac.

  2. Open Nokia Multimedia Transfer and iTunes.

  3. In iTunes, you will find a folder with your Nokia device’s name. Select the folder, then go to File > Add new playlist to create a new playlist in your Nokia device folder. You may create multiple playlists for your Nokia device.

  4. Add the desired music, videos, and podcasts from your iTunes library to the playlist(s) you created in your Nokia device folder. Alternatively, you can also add entire playlists by selecting them and dragging them into your Nokia device folder.

    Note: smart albums are also supported by Nokia Multimedia Transfer.

  5. Start the transfer by:

    a) connecting your Nokia device to your Mac. Any new content in the device folder will be transferred automatically after connecting. If you need assistance with connecting, please see the section connect to your Mac,

    or

    b) if your Nokia device was already connected, click on the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in the menu bar and select "Start Transfers." The Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon will flash while content is being transferred. You can follow the progress by clicking the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in your menu bar. When the transfer is complete, you will be notified on screen.

  6. On your Nokia device, update or refresh the music library in your Nokia device’s music player. You may now play the tracks transferred from iTunes to your Nokia device.

    You can play videos transferred from iTunes by going to your Nokia device’s Gallery and opening them from the Images & video folder.

Note: Protected content cannot be transferred from iTunes to your Nokia device. Protected content is typically music purchased through iTunes or audiobooks from Audible.com®, but may also be certain podcasts or video files. However, you may transfer iTunes Plus songs and other music without digital rights management (DRM) encryption.


Filling your Nokia device memory with music

You can also use Nokia Multimedia Transfer to fill up the memory on your Nokia device to a desired percentage with a random selection of tracks. Nokia Multimedia Transfer will first transfer any photos you may have added to the device folder in iPhoto and music in the device folder in iTunes. If there is still space in your Nokia device memory, Nokia Multimedia Transfer will fill the memory up to the desired remaining percentage.


Before you begin, make sure that you selected "Enable iTunes Transfer Fill-Up" during the Nokia Multimedia Transfer setup. If you did not, you can select it by clicking on the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in your menu bar, selecting Device settings... Use the slider to select the desired fill-up percentage under iTunes Fill-Up. Nokia Multimedia Transfer can fill up to 90 percent of your Nokia device’s memory with random tracks.

  1. Connect your Nokia device to your Mac. If you need assistance with connecting, please see the section connect to your Mac.

  2. Open Nokia Multimedia Transfer.

  3. Start the memory fill-up by clicking on the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in your menu bar and selecting "Start Music Fill-up." The Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon will flash while the content is being transferred. You can see the progress by clicking the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon. When the transfer is complete, you will be notified on screen.

    Note: You can stop the fill-up transfer at any time by clicking the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in your menu bar and clicking on the cross above the transfer progress bar. Nokia Multimedia Transfer periodically uploads an updated playlist file to the device during the transfer. If the transfer is cancelled or interrupted, you will find a playlist containing music that had been transferred prior to cancelling.

  4. On your Nokia device, update or refresh the music library in your Nokia device’s music player. You may now play the tracks transferred from iTunes to your Nokia device.

  5. You can add new random tracks to your Nokia device by clicking the Nokia Multimedia Transfer icon in your menu bar and selecting "Refresh Fill-up Music."
