Please try the following actions to fix the problem
Note that connection problems may occur if you have previously unplugged USB devices without using the system tray utility for ejecting devices.
Also If a working connection suddenly stops working you can try to repair it using the functionality existing in Nokia Ovi Suite and PC Suite.
Go to Add/Remove programs found in control panel (called Programs in windows 7)
Select Nokia Ovi Suite or PC Suite installation and click Change/Remove
From the dialog Choose Repair
Nokia Ovi Suite or PC Suite installation is now checking the consistency of needed files and will repair errors if found
Nokia Ovi Suite is the next generation computer software that will replace Nokia PC Suite. Nokia Ovi Suite connects your computer, phone, and ovi.com online services. Use Nokia Ovi Suite to sync your phone content, share your photos and videos, transfer music, download free maps to your phone, and more. Both Nokia PC Suite and Nokia Ovi Suite can be installed on the same computer, however they should not be used simultaneously. Note that latest Nokia phones are supported only by Nokia Ovi Suite.
Nokia Map Loader is an application for your Mac with which you can download maps and then transfer them to your mobile device. With Nokia Map Loader you save in data transfer costs, and the downloading is faster than with a mobile internet connection.
If you download the map of a country with Nokia Map Loader, the map is immediately available in your device when you start the Maps application, and you do not have to wait for the data to be downloaded over the mobile internet connection
Map Loader can be downloaded from www.nokia.com/maploader.
If you wish to transfer map data to your device via your PC, you can use Nokia Ovi Suite. Open Ovi Suite and select View > Go To > Maps.
To connect your phone and computer, first make sure the phone is switched on. Depending on what connection type you want to use and what your phone and computer support, you should connect the data cable to the computer first and then connect the other end of the cable to your phone, or activate the Bluetooth connection of your phone. If you use a USB cable, the connection is created automatically. If you use Bluetooth, pair your phone with the computer and set it as authorized. You only have to do this the first time you connect the phone via Bluetooth. When you connect your phone to a computer using a USB cable, the Operating system will update a number of support components drivers that are required for accessing the phone using your computer. Installing these drivers may take a while.
Uninstalling any previous Nokia PC Suite version is not required.
Nokia Ovi Suite software gives you easy access to the contents of your Nokia phone. Nokia Ovi Suite will eventually replace Nokia PC Suite and its variants, like Nokia Ovi Suite 1.x, and integrate the main features from Nokia Photos, Nokia Software Updater and Nokia Map loader.
First download the Ovi Suite installer file from the Compatibility & Download section on the Nokia website. After the download has finished, double-click the installer file and follow the instructions.
Maps data is not available if Nokia Ovi Suite is not connected to the internet because Maps content is located on server, not locally on the computer.
Also, for you to be able to download and use the maps, your Nokia phone needs to be connected to Nokia Ovi Suite.
Start the Maps application on the device before using Nokia Ovi Suite for first time or when map application is updated and close it before using Nokia Ovi Suite.
When you connect your phone to the computer via USB cable, make sure you have the default or the PC Suite mode selected in your phone if you want to use Nokia Ovi Suite with your phone. Media Transfer mode is required for transferring DRM protected music to the phone. See the user guide for your phone for more detailed information on the USB modes available.
Nokia Ovi Suite supports Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, but please install the following fix in your computer:
Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 (KB952142)
Syncing is a safe and easy way to keep all your information up to date in both, your phone and your computer. Also, if you ever happen to lose your content, you can restore it easily.
Check that the cable is properly plugged in and that you have selected the PC Suite USB mode on your phone. You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable, or changing the USB mode from your phone’s connectivity settings. If your phone is still not detected, disconnect the cable, reboot your phone and computer, and try again. This issue may also occur if there’s a problem with the USB cable that you are using. Check that you are using an original Nokia cable and the correct cable type for your phone.
Check your internet connection or disable the computer’s firewall or antivirus programme, if there is one, and try downloading the software again.
The Software Installer application opens when you insert a Nokia phone CD into the CD/DVD drive of your computer. Follow the instructions to install the software you need. The progress of the installation is shown in the Status column. When the installation is finished, Nokia Ovi Suite opens automatically and you can proceed to connect your phone and your computer.
You most probably have the autoplay feature disabled on your CD/DVDROM. If autoplay is disabled, launch the *.exe file from the CD/DVDROM's root directory - no internet connection is required.
